About Troop 267

Troop 267 is the oldest Boy Scout Troop in the South Bay and has earned the Silver Ribbon Award for Unit Excellence from the Pacifica District. Troop 267 is charted by the El Segundo Methodist Church Men’s Group.

Troop 267 is a member of Pacifica District within the Los Angeles Area Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Troop 267 is a very active, Scout-led troop of boys who participate in a challenging and diverse program of outdoor skills, leadership building, achievement, and service to others. Active Scouts develop initiative, leadership, self-reliance and confidence, skills that develop strong character in boys who will become leaders and achievers in the adult world.

Our Troop has a proud tradition of graduating Eagle Scouts for the council, see our Eagles page. We have active Order of the Arrow (OA) membership in our Scouts and in our adult leadership. OA is Scouting’s National Honor Society. Our Troop’s OA members are active in both local chapter and lodge activities, and have served as staff in many lodge functions and service projects.

Many of our adult leaders have completed Wood Badge training – which is the highest level of adult training for Scouting.

Wood_LineTroop 267 Boy Scout meetings are held every Tuesday from 6:45 to 8pm at the El Segundo Scout House which is located 325 E. Grand Avenue in El Segundo, CA.

Interested in Joining Troop 267

We are always interested in new members! If your son is interested in visiting our troop, please drop by any Tuesday meeting. You may also contact our Scout Master using the Contact Us page for questions in advance.

Boys must be age 11 or older, or have completed the fifth grade, or have earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scouting. Membership in Cub Scouting is NOT required if the age or grade requirement is met.

Activities

Each year our scouts participate in both Summer Camp and Winter Camp opportunities. Scout camps offer both outdoor experiences and formal opportunity to complete merit badges and other requirements necessary for rank advancement.

Our troop holds a series of backpacking treks each year aimed at learning how to pack right and light for long overnight treks on foot. They begin with a day trip followed by multiple overnight outings – each trip more demanding than the prior to build the necessary preparedness in steps.

Leadership Building and Service

Troop 267 is thoroughly committed to the scouting principles of a youth led organization, and as such places great emphasis and responsibility on youth leadership.
